Recently, a large part of Venezuela spent more than three days without electricity. As a consequence, patients with dialysis were forced to stop their treatment; medicines that had to be refrigerated were damaged; and doctors were unable to attend and perform operations. These are just some of the terrible problems in the health sector caused by the interruption of the electricity service. This crisis is becoming more acute every day, so we must speak out about the reality of our country. That is why we were honoured to have been invited by Human Rights Watch as presenting partner of the film “Está todo bien” by the Venezuelan film maker Tuki Jencquel during the most recent HRW Film Festival. The film talks about the extreme situations the Venezuelan population needs to face due to the lack of medicines and proper medical assistance.
