An estimate of 27,000 doctors have left Venezuela, almost 50%. The same is happening with postgraduate students (Junior Doctors) who are crucial in the running of state hospitals. To prevent a massive exodus ad an even more significant decline in medical attention, we fund transport and basic expenses for 110 postgraduate medical students in four universities in the country. In 2020, we hope to include more. Students are chosen by the coordinators of the medical schools on the basis of specific financial and performance criteria defined by Healing Venezuela with the commitment to remain in the country for 2 years after graduation.
